The Clarkes are really bad, and YES they have been serviced, they are not a patch and never have been on my Shimano Diore.

Any suggestions as to which ones

Note the fitting type, Post Mount (PM) not FM

Thanks

I have Tektro hydraulic brakes on my bike. They work great. I’m not sure what model I have though. I think these are them.

Your clarkes have a square olive so you’ll have to replace the olive, or use new hoses. You might be able to find a complete “kit” that come with new hoses, though.

or shimano deore xt or above. They are single-finger brakes, though they are more sensitive than the Tektro, so they need a light touch. have 17,000 miles on one pair.

Similar to the tektro I have TRP E23 4 Piston and they work well.
2 years/ 7200mi and excellent stopping power on an 80lb/1000w mid drive and a fair amount of hill use.
But I think it fair to say that most of the mainstream major brand 4 piston work well. Most brake issues are user related.
