How To Ship Your Own Battery By Ground (Continental North America)?

I am moving across the continent, and am mulling shipping my ebike (vs selling it). I can figure out how to ship the bike. The battery, however...

How should I do this? I haven't found any straightforward resources.

The most promising solution so far seems to be peer to peer shipping service, like Roadie, Peership. I don't know that these will actually work, but I don't need much more than a guy sticking the battery in his car for a road trip.

https://www.roadie.com/ ($100 quote or so, coast to coast)
(Link Removed - No Longer Exists) ($60-90)

bikeflights.com will ship class I e-bikes and batteries between certified shippers. You can check on their site if there are ones close to your starting point and destination.

I don't know what bikeflights costs, but it is almost certainly more than $100. Actually, I stand corrected. Shipping a bike from Seattle to New York is around $68. That doesn't include a bike box and packing and unpacking the bike or whatever fee the bike shop charges for shipping the batteries.

what I'd suggest then is contact one of the bike shops on their list that has the hazmat certification to handle e-bike batteries. Maybe they can ship the batteries for you to your destination for a modest fee.
