How far to run down battery between charges

I have an Allant+9.9S with 2 batteries. I have been in the habit of recharging after most rides which are b/t 25 and 50 miles, so seldom is the battery level less than 60-70%. Should I be trying to bring the battery charge down lower than this from time to time, ie charge less frequently?

An amazing battery. My pals do nothing except ride and charge and get crazy high total mileage out of their batteries! Ride it as if you stole it!

Don't run it down all the way. Do not charge it to 100% and leave it there. Ride.

I’ve always followed the 80% to 40% rule. If you keep your battery at those levels it will last longer. If I had two batteries I just wouldn’t charge at 70% unless you know you are going for a long ride. I charge mine with a timer and estimate what will get it up to 80% to 90% range and then go out and charge it more about an hour before I ride if I’m going to take a long ride.

All that said, if it becomes to much work, just keep it charged and riding it isn’t the end of the world.

My rides average about 20 miles. When I'm done it shows either 3 or 4 bars out of five so guessing I use maybe 30-40 percent each ride. I fully charge after each ride. At the end of the season (late Nov.) I run them down to about 70% and store them in a closet until spring. I balance them first thing in the spring and again late summer. Seems to work out OK.
