I bought an Air Shock as a replacement for my E-Bike’s Rear Shock. Also got a high pressure pump from Amazon. It did not fill it. The air would leak out each time I unscrewed the fitting. Sent it back and after researching I found a very nice pump that is easy to operate and works extremely well. It is a little pricey but it is Quality. It is everything they said about it. I surprised at how easy it is to pump and operate. I got it on the “Black Friday” sale at a $30 discount. Has a 7 year warranty also.
Here is a video of it.

As you've discovered, you need a pump specifically designed for air shocks. There are many out there with varying prices. The Silca is a great choice, but a bit high priced. Likely a good product to own, especially if you use it frequently.

I use this relatively cheap unit from Fox:

I use it a couple of times a season and so far, no problems in 6 years of use.

I've had this one for 5 years now. . . And it works very well without issue.

It has a quick release lever to depress the pin so there's no air loss disconnecting which is a recommended feature on any shock pump since they are high pressure/low volume.
The shock brand'd pumps (Fox, Rockshox) are usually about $40 but considering this had just as good reviews and my limited need I went for it @$25
The Silca should last you a lifetime, and by the way Jenson states that is the warranty duration.... so feel free to will it to me 🙃
But do that before you take the Kenda tires off road 🙃🙃

I refuse to work on scooters now because they are junk made to be marketed and not to be serviced. When I did work on them the valve is often deeply recessed in the rim on for example 8" tires. There is no way a regular pump could get to the valve, so I would use a shock pump. 8" is not very big so it does not matter much that the pump is small.

I originally bought an e-scooter last June. I accidentally closed the bottom cover on two charging wires and momentarily shorted it out. It took over a month to get parts. I decided to get the E-Bike instead and like it much better.
It has 11” tires. Stability on small tires is not good. I put a steering stabilizer on it which helped but no comparison with the ride of my E-Bike.

This is the one I returned. With Amazon one never really knows if something is a “knockoff” or not. Also weird how you see 2 or 3 identical looking items but each with a different name. It was rated well but I digress.

That does look similar to the one I use but right off the bat you can see that the dial is different.
Also when it comes from China, their knockoffs, knockoffs have knockoffs... each looking similar, but going down in quality. So it can be hard to pick the best of the litter.
I also think it's a common business practice in China to continually reduce quality/cost with each production run so even something that is well made with good reviews if purchased a few years later can be a terd. You can see this if you sort reviews by date.
The one you purchased only has 10 reviews... I would typically pass on that alone.
Lastly if you search the brand I purchased... It has more than one pump product and all with good reviews. This indicates that they are more likely a legitimate pump company and not buying from a generic knockoff factory that puts on any label you're willing to pay for.

I bought one in 2019. Don't remember where I bought it or what I paid, etc. I was aware that anything that was pumping up past 150 psi had to be built well, so I went for something that looked good. I thought it might double as a tire pump, but volume is way to small.

I wondered about that fact. I guess they are made for high pressure, low volume which is what an air shock is I guess.
