Hailong 03 down tube battery - how to attach it appropriately?

Hi,

I'll just ask everyone: how did you attach your HaiLong 03 down tube battery to the frame? The battery is quite heavy at 6.6 kg. Images etc. are appreciated. Thinking how to mount the battery to my new project.

I don't trust two bottle bracket rivnuts to hold 8+ pounds, and I wouldn't add extra holes to an alloy frame for fear of weakening it. .

Grin sells a long bracket that uses those two holes, but also has a couple of auxiliary hose type clamps with rubber pads. The battery cradle attaches to their bracket. You can make your own, if you're handy.

I saw solution like this online. Using some 5-10 mm/0,2-0,4 inches thick aluminum slab could be option. Problem with grin products is that I live in EU so it would be extremely expensive to ship them here and they are out of the stock most of the time.

Yeah something like that could be an option. Only problem is that I can only get one hole on the metallic part of the battery.

Yeah this is what I was thinking about myself in post #5. Just thinking how thick it should be and should I use nuts or try to thread it the top points.
