My crude and rudimentary BBSHD happened to have 160 NM of torque and can continue to provide support up to 140 rpm cadence. I'm not that interested to use all that torque since I am concerned about the chain stretching and premature wear of the drive train.

Instead of the high torque, I rather used the high rpm support at lower assist level and try to preserve the drive train, and my knees.
But I have the throttle handy in case of emergency evasive maneuver. And boy, how forceful is that bad boy motor when I full throttled it.
