Galaxy 24

Anybody own the Galaxy with the 24 inch wheels? Curious to hear your thoughts. I own the ALE and am very happy with it and Evelo customer service. But my wife feels the ALE is just too big of a bike for her. Wish there was some other option to try the Galaxy besides flying from San Diego to Seattle, or ordering it and assembling it and maybe sending it back.

I don't own a Galaxy, but they have many desirable features. Evelo used to sell a 26" model, which I would have probably bought if they hadn't discontinued it. There is a page on their website where you can input your zip code and see if there is a bike available for testing near you. I entered a couple of local zip codes and was referred to the Seattle location. 🤨 They used to have ambassadors, who were people like myself that would make their bike available for test rides. I don't think they are doing that anymore. Here is a link to the locations page:

Thanks. Tried their zip code locator many times already. No place in California to try this bike as far as I can tell. I wonder why EVELO gave up on the ambassador program? It seems to me the more people who had a chance to ride an EVELO, the more people who would buy. I would certainly be an ambassador since I so like my ALE and have had excellent customer service experiences with the company.

I am/was supposedly an ambassador for Evelo. Over the first two years in the program, they referred two potential customers to me for a test ride. The first one never showed up and the second one never set an appointment, despite my attempt to contact him. I'm sure they had many other similar incidents with their ambassadors. Otherwise the program would still be in place.

They still offer a 7 day home trial with free return shipping if you're not satisfied. Of course, you would have to disassemble the bike and try to repack it. 🤪

Interesting because the local ambassador by me is how I ended buying my Aurora fully loaded, from him. I didn't realize he actually owned the bike. I thought he was a rep of some sort, I guess technically he still is. He had two Auroras, well, one now.

He still shows up when I put my zip code in, 14217. Has a white Aurora still listed as available to test ride.

I guess the program is still going, but I haven't heard from them in two years, probably because my bike is now too old and has been replaced by newer models.

I suppose one can consider me an unofficial ambassador. My wife has been riding my ALE regularly and the more she rode it the more she liked it. Yesterday she ordered one!
