so while bragging up my bike to family in Cochrane they responded by saying her and husband just bought Giant e-Trance bikes, while on my first big trip out in minus 10 and snow today I am absolutely hooked, so much fun except tomorrow wearing mitts instead of gloves and a warmer toque, anyways while out in crusty snow covered meadow started to bog down was going to turn around but first tried another level of assist and I whipped through that field, a real game changer, tires excellent on slippery surface as well, hey good luck on what you and your husband choose

Does anyone know much about this bike? I rented a hard tail Liv ebike and it was great just wondering if anyone has any experience with the full suspensions ones?

Steve-These are some great looking bikes. Do you have any experience with riding any of their EMTBs or any particular reason you chose Norco? Just curious
I have owned a few Norco Acoustic bikes and I still ride and really like my 29er. These guys know downhill and in my heart I lust for a bike than can go just about anywhere . (-:

Norco looks great. If not high $$.

What is the difference between a Shimano Steps E7000 and E8000?

They have one model priced at four-thousand, everything else is higher.

That one is only a hard tail with the smaller motor. The one I covet would have the big motor , full suspension , carbon frame. Here is a 4 min blurb about the Sight Vlt1

Edit: Guess I should have refreshed the page, eh?? LOL

Quoting myself...
The answer - very little. The E7000 is a slightly less powerful, cheaper alternative to the Steps E8000, to be found on less expensive models.

Good comparo here...they actually liked the E7000 better:

Interesting! But it appears you can only get the 630 watt battery in combo with E 8000. Too bad.

Think giant stance with different stickers. Have a look around for discounted 2019 giants - they'll be easier to find than liv. With the 2020 range just released and the reign being burlier than a trance you should be able to find something higher spec than that liv for similar $- eg a trance 2 with fox forks etc.

Apart from extea travel, the trance has the multi pivot maestro rear suspension which will be a bit more progressive.

nb modern (2019 on) giants - liv have relatively low front ends / long chainstays - so great climbers but not as playfull as , eg, the norco if you like flicking the rear around . Whilst you can lighten the front by fitting higher bars / extending fork travel, that long rear end will always feel, er, stable.

I love my giant (2018 full e pro) . Shimano motors feel sluggish by comparison . But I'd swap it for a norco if I could justify the extra $.

That shimano motor review inadvertently points out an interesting difference between the shimano and giant ( yamaha) - the shimano whines , and whiiiiineeeesss are higher cadence. The giant growls ( and grunts) at low cadence then goes through a whine phase, then becomes nearly silent above 80 cadence. It's a bit like riding a motorbike, with different sounds and feeling at different revs. I like it, but magazine reviewers call it less " natural"

Ah. I'm not the sharpest razor, especially on late evenings, Chris 🤣

the shimano whines
Brose or Specialized remains silent. One of the points for Specialized Turbo Levo 😊

The bike shop we stopped in at over the holiday had a green and tan levo, 29'r, $5K out the door. Ouch. My first car was $265. 🤣
Very cool looking bikes. I didn't dare try one, but should have just for the experience.

No, no experience with Giant or their Liv line. Just know that the Liv lineup is designed in mind for women, so the fit of that bike should be a strong consideration to think about, Rachelle.

Another major win in my book with this bike is that it's powered by Yamaha. My bike is a Yamaha PW drive powered Full FatSix dual suspension fat tired mtb. Dual suspension is a game changer in how you feel on or off road. Ride it once and you'll not want to go back to a hard tail. And as far as the Yamaha drive goes, I've got 9400 miles on my Haibike and not one glitch or hiccup at all from this drive.
