FLX Blade Long Term

How has the FLX Blade performed long term? Probably going to be picking up one tomorrow. I know 4k is nothing in the e-bike world. Looking at you Specialized and Pedago. However, i think this blends high performance and with value. Wish it was a full suspension.

Before blowing my bonus on this bike would love to hear what the community thinks of the bike.

The EBR review is said to be "fluffy" according to Chris in the comment section of the review.

Any help is appreciated.

Have you looked at Juiced Bikes? Apparently they will be doing Black Friday sales.

What kind of performance are you looking for? And no, I don't think $4k is "nothing" it is still a lot of money in my opinion.

Hi Timpo, I did look at Juiced Bikes. I want a non fat tire bike as they don't really fit in my commuter plans. South Florida Tri Rail only has a few slots for them and they fill up fast. Juiced does have a great rep though.

Power wise I am 200+ rider I bounce between 195 and 215 depending on the season. So I was thinking I would need some decent power.

I don't have a Blade but I do have a bike with the Bafang Ultra and it's a very powerful motor. Smooth torque , shift sensing too. Easy 35 mph with a big heavy bike equipped with 3.5 inch tires.

FLX Blade is nice bike, but it's a hardtail.

For $4K, can buy a full suspension Frey AM 1000. https://m.alibaba.com/product/60668...&f=wholesaler&detailId=60668339406&redirect=1

Full suspension emtb with good components. Recommend to upgrade to SRAM EX1 to handle that Ultra motor. Long thread (40+ pages) on Endless Sphere forum https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=91035

Frey allows customization as the bikes are built to order. About 45 days to your door, air freighted from China.

It looks like the exact same bike that FLX uses. Pretty interesting at nearly half the cost. No warranty on this stuff I am assuming

It's tempting to buy a blade for that motor but realize it's only "legal" on private property. Not that anyone is checking but if they do? who knows what would happen. Hopefully not a situation like NYC where bikes were actually confiscated.

The only thing the police have said to me in Traverse City is "nice bike !". They also ride ebikes.

The good news is I'm sure you'll be able to outrun the cops on your blade :) I have to admit I'm quite jealous of that beast of a motor

An ebike that's pretty much exactly the same as an FLX blade at half the cost sounds good to me!

I considered buying a blade and surely that motor is worth something but for a hard tail I couldn't justify spending 4k

There's a 1yr warranty. Frey has been good at taking care of any issues and does continual product improvement since they are the manufacturer/designer.
