I had several Ti bikes bitd including a fs one, all 29"rs of course. That Carver is a beaut and kudos for keeping it on the trail.
I DIY'd my first similar effort 4 years ago, albeit with a TSDZ2 system, and although I have switched it around onto different bikes in the shed some, the way I roll to this day because as I think you concluded with your build you don't have to go to the bike shop and buy the newest stuff to get out there and have as much of a good time as you want especially if you have some experience wrenching on bikes.
BTW I had issues stuffing my shark style battery similar to yours in my Alu FS frame I currently have set up. What I ended up doing was just using the lower mounting bolt and using it to pivot the battery enough to remove it. I use a strap on the upper end while under way and although it was one of those "I guess I'll see if this works" it actually does although I do leave the battery on the bike most of the time. When I do take it off I check the bolt and it seems fine and doesn't come loose but I do use blue loctite on it which I would in any case even with 2 bolts. I ride mainly rough trails here in the PNW too.
