felt ebike bike not as peppy as in the past

Hey guys,

If there was a malfunction in the cadence, torque or wheel speed sensor, would it show up on the intuvia screen or in the diagnostic report which was done? Bike seems to drag a little more all as of late. Tires are inflated. I am not as aerodynamic as in the summer but I feel the drag in my peddles and the assistance may not be as smooth or consistent as I think it has been in the past.
Any incite would be appreciated.

Hi Elliot: Just for openers, which model of the Felt ebikes are you referring to, how long have you had the bike and how many hours/charges on the battery? Thom

A speed sensor issue should prompt a reading on the display. As for the torque and cadence sensor, I have not yet encountered any issues with either.

I highly suggest performing a firmware update at your local Bosch certified dealer, if this has not already been done. An update will typically clear up most nagging issues.

Performance speed motor....I think the firmware update is for the CX motor. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Just had it computer diagnosed last week without any errors. Bike is only a few months old. (600 miles)
Feels like more resistance when I peddle then when initially purchased.

It is recommended that you perform an update one or twice a year regardless of the model of Bosch motor.

This Summer's CX update was primarily for the new eMTB mode, but I believe there was a Performance Line update in Summer '16 that boosted its torque from 60 to 65 Nm, among other things.

I checked the diagnostic that was preformed a couple of weeks ago and it stated what version firmware was present in the motor, the battery and the Intuvia. The battery and the Intuvia were the same but the motor firmware was more recent than was listed on bosch's website.
Brought the bike in last week for some minor adjustments in the brakes and derailleur and changing a failed chain link. It now feels somewhat better. Maybe the problem was strictly physical. Hope so. I'll keep you informed after my next lengthy excursion when the weather allows.
I also suggest to all who are interested in the breakdown of how the system performs, the length of time in each assisted mode, the current firmware, how many full charges have taken place, plus numerous other specs for their specific bike to have one of these diagnostics performed. Hopefully, it can be done where your bike was purchased, otherwise, it sounds like and expensive ordeal. Original dealers seem to do it for little or no expense at all.

It might be psychological. When I first got my bike it felt like the most powerful thing on earth now I'm like meh it could do better... You could test drive a similar spec bike at the dealer and see if it feels any different.

I'm assuming the updates are not independent of each other? In other words, if there is a new firmware version and you update that new version will likely have multiple updated items within the new version? I have the CX motor on the Haibike and I haven't updated to the eMTB. And I prefer not to (I like my Sport mode as-is). If I take my bike in (say sometime in 2018) for an update, will the eMTB update be required in order to take advantage of any other updates?

It can be updated regardless of current firmware you have on your bike. eMTB is not something special, it's the firmware version you are updating which eMTB mode comes along with it.
