Stopped by local ebike shop, saw this in the back. Sweet looking ride, same price range as r&m IMG_20190309_104920991.jpg

I bought one in November, horrible weather lately but did pass 100 miles on the odometer. Did you ask for the best price? I got a way better price than that one, but also didn't spring for the $700 worth of leather panniers. I think the panniers hurt the look, but would be handy. I laid down on the floor the other day and discovered bottle cage bosses under the tank. So can at least carry a little water on my cruise.

Cool looking , I guess, but looks like style over substance. I wouldn't care for all the attention but that's just me.

Love design, no idea of bike specs/performance. Color scheme, leather panniers remind me of those Grand Touring cars from the 40s, all leather and burled walnut with fitted custom luggage.

Substance? I don't understand a reference to substance with a bicycle. I ride for recreation and fitness, but most importantly, fun. I would agree with anyone that this style of ebike is not a commuter, nor mountain bike, nor gravel bike, but it does fill the requirement of providing a fun ride extremely well. I ride nearly every day, and the thought of getting on the same ebike 7 days of week starts heading towards boredom and making even a casual 10 mile cruise more effort than fun. Our bike co-op does a slow and social night ride the first Friday of every month. The Ruffian was quite the hit, despite the low attendance riding with the threat of snow. We did have some flurries on the ride, but I had a blast over the 13 mile run through historic neighborhoods. I have enjoyed engineering and industrial design in my career choices, and art as a hobby. I feel designs like this appeal to that combined aesthetic.

Sorry to offend but I'm not a fan of the forward pedal setup. I guess it would be OK for putting around town. Looks like a rather odd riding position. I'm sure it will win "Hipster bike of the year " !

No offense taken, I just can't figure out what you meant by substance. But I guess if you keep picking away at it and now calling it Hipster bike of the year, you'll get to me sooner or latter! If that is your goal. By the way, you spelled it wrong. I'm a 66 year old Hippie, not a Hipster.

It looks like they agree with me.

I like the vintage look of the Ruffian. But then I am biased by the Ariel Rider W Class in my avatar. That's the great thing about eBikes. There is something for everyone. Commuter, Mountain, Cruiser, Fat, Folding, etc.
