Shimano Alvio is what the Giant docs say - but it was delivered with a Microshift Advent Group..
The 9 speed on the Advent came as 11-42T, which had a better range than the Alvio would have (11x36).
An 11-46T is available and they are rather inexpensive at around $50.
Time for some new pedals... LOLMy brother's new ride (and my old bike ready to go home).
Giant Talon 29 E+

When we get out together, I'll ask (and listen to his shifts). He's a retired Engineer with many years working in Quality control. If it's clunky, I'll certainly hear about it.That's a really interesting cassette option - 11-46 with a nice and solid chain, what does the shifting feel like?

If the Sight A1 is anything like my 19 Sight C3 its a complete joy to ride.
I can't ride for 3 months and it kills me to walk by it in the garage.
