EMBT RAMBLAS? Thoughts?

Direct to consumer bike companies don’t really care about post sale issues do they?
I realize this post is from last year, but I wanted to say that I think the decision to buy direct is a really important one for each individual to give some thought to. How long do you expect to keep your new ebike, and what is your ability to work on your bike yourself?

Since this post was made by @Neverlost , my bike company (Juiced) went under with no warning. Up to the point of death, the company was wonderful about supporting my bike and answering my questions. They even provided me with packing materials and shipping to send my rear wheel assembly in for fixing a broken spoke… Unfortunately, they shut the place down and I never got my stuff back! This is from a pioneering company that was in the business for 15 years. It’s a shame. Anyway, I just wanted to say that I totally love my Juiced bike, but I have had to become something of a hobbyist (and pack rat / parts collector) to be able to continue riding it.

These bike companies are all at risk and could go away just like Juiced. If you buy from a bike store or essentially through a dealer, you have a better chance of getting parts and service… but, from what I can see, you have to pay a pretty significant premium to do that.

Aventon at least has some LBS dealer support around, and they sell a lot of product. I would almost certainly look their way if I end up replacing my bike down the road. Will they survive amidst the competition and, now, US tariff situation? Who knows.
