Lennys is advertising a EG Athens for what looks like a decent price. Shows it as a mid drive but i cant find any specs on it as such, all data shows hub drive including the EGUSA website. Anybody have first hand knowledge? Thanks

It's not on the EG website. Probably 36V Class 2, and mild mannered, given its shape. Athens was their starter ebike in the 250W-350 class.

We went to Crazy Lennys in 2015 to look at an Athens 250W, but bought a EG Maui 500W instead. EG makes a solid, but basic bike. Never had any problems with ours. Still running at my sister's house, and she rides it three times a week in summer.

Give Crazy Lenny (a call and ask for details. At that price, you're not looking at an alternative to the Euro mid drives. Probably just a recreational rider, It does have mechanical disk brakes, probably Textro. The battery is easily replaced. See if it's cadence or torque sensor. How many PAS levels.

The big advantage being that the high school kid at the bike shop can change your flat tires without destroying the motor wiring. Disadvantage is the proprietary motor,
