I stated with a Specialized Stumpjumper in 1981. That was a great bike that began failing in 1993. I then bought a Raleigh M80. Not half the bike the Stumpjumper was but I still have it. I will continue to have the M80 until my MD1000
arrives. I no longer run single track but I am a bowhunter and wanted a bike with clean lines, more capable of carrying weight over rough roads rather than running fast. Big changes going from a chain to what I hope is a low maintenance, capable and durable belt drive with the clean lines of the IGH instead of the derailleur. It Will be interesting and I can't wait to find out if I made a mistake or will be as happy as I was with the Stumpjumper.
