I have a 2017 Easy Motion Atom Lynx . Having trouble solving issue. I either get error 13 or a blank screen and lose all power. I have cleaned all the contacts and checked the cable connection. I now have it at the dealer and he can’t reach anyone at BH to help. They won’t answer the phone . can anyone help?

I would take battery in/out , tighten the connectors , make sure that all the battery pins push in (you can test each individually by pressing on it with a tool). Each pin after pressing on it , should release and come back up.

What sort of ride or any work on the ebike have you done before it stopped working ?

This BH contact information was shared by another EBR Forum member...

An email I received ...EVO Diagnostic/Troubleshooting Error code Workflows
Dear BH Bikes USA Dealer, Due to global stock shortages and continued challenges from COVID-19, BH has suspended operations in North America and is transitioning all points of contact to our European offices.
For service questions or parts orders, please contact:
CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER Borja Gambin [email protected]

To inquire about bike sales or availability, please contact:
EXPORT SALES MANAGER Jose Miguel Aracama [email protected]

Operations in North America will be transferred to our BH Europe offices.
also Crazy Lenny’s says they will help but I did purchase from them, they are generally helpful to all

The bike has done this intermittently for the last year. I ride on a trail that has chain barriers to prevent motorcycles. When I lift the bike over the chains or lay it down to go under them this seems to happen. It also happens randomly . it doesn’t seem to be affected by stutter bumps or rough terrain. Sometimes after it happens ,I just repower it and it is fine but lately that hasn’t always worked. I haven’t done any work on the bike other than chain /shifter adjustments .

My bike shop is 1.5 hours away. I went today and we tried pressing the contact pins on the battery connection touch pad and on the display . They all popped up easily. The display doesn’t respond at all and is blank. With the battery out is shows full charge. I suggested to the dealer to contact Crazy Lenny ‘s to see if we can get some help. Thanks for the replies. Any more are welcome.

It could be an issue with the Pins under the display.
Do you have the left hand oval display ? Those tend to have issues.

The digital display is in the middle and the power / boost button is on the left.
I have sent an email to Borja Gambin Europe service from a recent post. Haven’t had a reply. It really sucks that there is nothing in North America.

Join the club, it's been a chronic problem for me,for over a year. Not getting any help from Crazy Lenny's or BH. Beyond disgusted.

It's a shame!

I told @FlatSix911 to avoid the Lynx for this exact problem even though they look nicer and sleek.
Brose had some issues with their earlier models and coupled with sparse support/help, it's can be a pain when things go wrong.

Ravi, I am indebted to you for your wise recommendation to avoid the BH Lynx/Brose and instead go with the BH Rebel/Yamaha.

I was originally tempted by the well-integrated battery design, but I'm glad I followed your advice. Even the sales guy at CL confirmed your concerns.

Now I have tried to pay-it-forward on EBR in helping to advise other members. Thanks again. ;)

BH Spain and Bicycle Blue Book owes you a hefty reward or a Porsche 911!
you helped them sell 100's of bikes by actively advocating their products and helping them clear their North American inventory. Yamaha is a wise choice in the long run.

Thanks for all your efforts here. I think everyone appreciates it even though they don't verbally express it.

It sounds like you are on the right path for repair. Here is the pdf download for the Atom, which I believe employs the same e-drive system as the Atom Lynx. Link: https://www.bhbikes.com/download/bancorecursos/Manual ebikes_LR.pdf

Just scroll down to the English section and look for troubleshooting codes and repair.

Hopefully somebody else here can recommend an Euro ebike dealer who deals with BH who can have whatever cable connections or other parts you need to get rolling again. I checked RideWill. It and they don't carry BH parts.

It'd be worth a shot to contact Brose.....

Good luck and let us know how things work out, Marvin.

Thanks . I have read tried everything that the troubleshooting recommended without success. I guess I might try Brose. Pretty frustrating that BH won’t even reply to dealers or consumers.

Does this mean I am stuck with a 53 lb non electric mountain bike ? What kind of company is this ???

If I were you, I would shoot an email to the BH Spain contact mentioned above and copy your dealer on it. If the dealer presses for it, they may respond sooner.
It may take few weeks but they should be able to figure out and get you back on track.

I did write a detailed email to them from that link yesterday but haven’t had a response. I will forward my email to the dealer as you suggested . I did attach the dealer contact info in my email. Thanks

Try what Ravi recommends and go from there. BH is not the only bike that runs the Brose e-drive system in the US. Bulls does as well as Specialized, but the question about your bike is if that display is a BH-specific-only design. I don't believe Specialized even utilizes a display on their mtb's unless it's an option to buy.

As these bikes age and the miles accumulate, it will be interesting to see what kind of problems arise and how repairs are done, what with the manufacturer gone from the US.

Hope it works out.

If I were you, I would send an email subtly warning them like this...

"You catch more flies with honey than vinegar.. and if BH ever decides to come back to the N. American market , past customers like me will be rooting for BH's success.
The E-bike market will be vastly different in 10 -15 years from now and I will look forward to purchasing another BH E-bike for my son or grandson. Meanwhile, I hope you will help me and my dealer to fix my current bike."

If they don't help you at all, they are digging their own grave and N.American market will be virtually sealed off if they they ever decide to come back again.

@Angela M. and @mitchhackleman , could we please move this to BH forum?

Thanks
