Don’t leave bike rack down when parked

Went biking at a country park recently. When I returned I discovered that my kuat rack was damaged, with the tire holder arm bent and tire tray crooked. It is a two bike rack and sits pretty low to the ground in loading position, so I can imagine how someone backing up their car or truck did not see the rack from their rear view mirror. Will always fold up rack from now on.

I put the rack in the car if it's a trail head. I recall driving a rental car (no bikes) to one outside Anchorage, Looked down at the asphalt. There were a dozen piles of broken window glass on each of the painted divider lines between cars. Our car was empty, everything back in the hotel, so I parked and left the window down.

Unload the rack and back into the parking spot.
