Does changing the Display settings

Thanks Guys
I just measured my tire size, had the bike standing straight up and down, measured from the floor to the top of the tire,
thru the axel center and it measures 30-1/2" tall, for my 26x4.5 tires filled to 30 lbs.
Waiting for the connection cable to get here so I can change the settings etc.

Tia,
Don
Have you tried setting through the display?

Hi Al
Yes,
I have been attempting to find and set the wheel thru the display, but I cannot find the wheel setting,
I have found just about every thing else, just NO wheel setting step.

I am having a hard time reading the information due to the coloring of the print etc.
(color blind to 4 different colors) which button to push ( + or -) at what step etc.

I have been using this site : https://www.ebikechoices.com/dpc-18-display-manual-download/
and have not found any other site with the info on it etc.

Thanks,
Don

Don, I did a quick cut and paste, then edited those difficult to read symbols out, replacing them with conventional text. Some comfort maybe, is the fact those are difficult to see even if you aren't color blind.

11DISPLAY MANUAL DP C18.UART

USER SET
Enter into “SETTING” interface.
After turn on the display, briefly press "i" (<0.5S)
for two times to enter into the“SETTING”
interface.

The interface includes the three
options as “Display setting”,“Information”
and “EXIT”. Briefly press (<0.5S) "-" or "+" to
switch the options and then briefly press "i"
(<0.5S) to confirm and enter into the op-
tion. Select “EXIT” and briefly press "i" (<0.5S)
to exit the interface or briefly press "i"
(<0.5S) for two times in any interface to
exit the set inface. The set dates are saved
for the two exit mode. If there is no any
operaion within 20s and then exit the set
interface, no any dates are saved.

(8) “Wheel” --- set the wheel diameter
Briefly press (<0.5S) "-" or "+" to select
“Wheel”, and then briefly press (<0.5S) "i".

This moment, briefly press (<0.5S) "-" or "+"
to select the wheel diameter as “6”/“7”/“8”/
....../“32”/“33”/“34”. After confirmation,
briefly press (<0.5S)"i" to save the set and
exit back to “Wheel”.

Briefly press "i" for two times (interval time is less than 0.5S) to
exit back to main interface or select “BACK”
→ “EXIT” to exit back to main menu.

Isn't wheel diameter a controller setting?
On the 860c display it is not a setting.
What happens if the DP C18 has a different diameter set then the controller?

What motor are you running?
Gion
I am NOT sure, here is the info that is on the bottom of my motor,
CR R10M.1000.FC 1.0
A48YJV3053488
MM G510.1000.C 12
027F3V3220389

I believe that it's a Bafang G510 = 750W motor? I can't seem to find any info on it..

ahhh yes... That is better known as the Ultra... with either a 750w or 1000w controller. I'd guess 750w from your other discussion.
You might find more info searching Bafang 620 or Bafang Ultra

Pretty sure it can be set either place. Forget how they word it, but something like "size determined by display setting"?

Hi Al
I have tried several times, following your post and I cannot find a wheel setting anywhere.
I can find almost all of the other sections, in either sport or Eco modes, just NO wheel setting section etc.

I think, I am grounded until that connector cable gets here.
I greatly appreciate all the work you have done.

Thank you,
Don

Don, sport or eco mode not relevant. When you have the display powered up, and you press on both the up and down buttons, the display will go into setup mode. From there you select "display settings" and you should see "wheel size".

If you think this is difficult, you're going to be pulling you hair out getting into it using a cable....

Well after almost an hour I finally got to display setting,
but I did find a total of 5 different pages, page#1,#2, in one section and 3, 4, and 5pg's,
in the second section, printed in yellow printing
there is a total of pages 1-5, which has the following information sections,

Display setting pg,1
Service tip = OFF,
Brightness =100%,
Auto Off = 5 min,
Default mode = Eco,
Power view = Power,
SOC view = Voltage,
Trip Rest = No,
AL Sensitively = 2
Password,
Set Clock,

Display Setting pg#2
Wheel, set at 29" > (this section and Speed limits, I cannot get to open like all the rest of the settings)
Speed limits, > set at 28.5 mph"
Battery info,
Ctrl info,
Display Info,
Torque Info,
Error Code
----------------------
pg#1 of 3, information (Yellow colored printing)
Temp = C,
Total Volt = V,
Current =A,
Res Cap =AH,
Full Cap = AH,
Rel Charge State =%,
Abs Charge State = %,

pg #2
Cycle Times,
Max Uncharge time--H
Last Uncharge time--H
Total Cell

pg#3 ->
has Battery index = HW and = SW, which I know nothing about.

On the page#2,
there is a wheel setting, but I cannot enter into it,
it appears to be locked off etc, or I am NOT something correctly.?.

Tia,
Don

The controller is the master here, and the display a slave so it's probably best to just wait for the cable.

Thanks,
I did have the bike unlocked, when it was shipped.
Maybe I should send an email to Kyle to find out the information needed?

Tia,
Don

I have an older DPC-18 display on my wife's bike. I think all you do is of course turn it on of course and then double tap the "i" symbol button to access the settings.
Then about 1/2 way down you scroll with the + /- buttons to "Wheel size for speed calibration" then press once the "i" button again to open that perimeter and then use the + / - buttons again to increase the tire size or decrease as needed. When your all set hit the "i" button one last time to lock in your setting. Then scroll down to the bottom using the + button until you land on the back betting , then hit the "i" one last time and your done.
I will confirm tomorrow in the am if anything is amiss with these instructions.

Wheel size is set using the display it has nothing to do with the motor controller. There is a section in the controller programing text but it should be set to "size set as per display settings" along with a few other parameters in the controller programming.

I know reseting your trip has to be done in the settings every time you want to do it with that particular display.

One last thing the older displays are calibrated for a 48v system so the percentage for battery capacity will be inaccurate so you need to set it to SOC Voltage to get the correct voltage info. Then you need to know your limits on voltage status.
Remember this is for the older displays they might be different now as I don't use this display we usually use the 750C model.

I think the video above spells it out pretty well.
Good luck.

I'm wondering if it is an Ultra only situation... Or newer hardware?.. but I don't have the option to set As per Display for Wheel Size in the controller and I don't know why you can't access it.... Maybe unless it needs to be correct in the controller first.

I stand corrected on the 860c settings... It's been so long since my initial setup and there is a wheel setting. But the instructions still lead me to believe that it needs to be set correctly in the controller primarily.

Guys
FWIW, the info on the back of the display reads as follows:
DPC 18.C11
702PIV4285231

When I get to Display setting pg2,
the scrolling does NOT let me select or stop at the Wheel or Speed listings,
it bypasses these 2 options,
and the selection stops at the battery setting tab.

When setting the wheel sizes, is it better to use the inch or metric standards,
to get the most accurate speed readings, as my diameter measures 30.5"?, right now.
Thanks Guys,
Tia,
Don

This is why I think you need to see what the controller is set to... and start there.

Again coming from a different setup... I can't use the cm setting which is circumference (and more accurate) because the controller doesn't support it as the only choices are for diameter and in inches. I'm assuming that the two settings should be matched.
From what I've seen in other posts... The Ultra is the same. Let us know when you get the cable
