DOES ANYONE OWN A RIDE1UP OR EG GENEVA

I have been researching and watching reviews to educate myself in order to purchase my first e bike. I have narrowed it down to the RIDE1UP 700 & the EG GENEVA 500. Anyone own any of these bikes that wouldn't mind giving a brief review of their own? Each offers different features so I'm curious to see how current owners rank the features of their bike.

There's quite a few here that have Ride1Up bikes, and the 700 series in particular. Check out the Ride1Up section of this forum and the the Ride1Up Facebook group to read many existing posts on these bikes.

I have had my Ride1Up 700 for 4 days, have put 75 miles on it, and I'm still on the original charge. The reason I've got such good range is because I'm riding it as much as a normal bike as possible, with no assist when I have a tailwind on level ground, but engaging 30 to 60 watts into headwinds, 120 watts or so on mid-sized hills, and 300+ watts going up the steepest hills on my route, all while pedaling hard enough to keep my heart rate up. I'm also working the gears. I've laid off the throttle almost entirely except for testing. I don't stop much when riding my country routes. I like the 2.4" wide tires (one guy I spoke with thought they were fat tires), the top end gearing, current based PAS rather than speed based PAS, configurable power percentage settings per assist level. One reason I bought an e-bike was due to knee pain when riding up hills. The 700 sounds like it would work fine in your situation. I don't know anything about the other one you mentioned.

Thanks so much for your input. I want to ride the bike without any assist as much as possible and am glad you included that info in your reply. I also have knee issues and want to fall back on the assist and throtle whenever I need the help. The other bike is a mid drive with a throttle and torque sensor but also 1k more.

Would just like to comment that interest in the ability to ride without assist is a common concern with e-bike newbies. Pretty much all find that when they get their e-bikes that concern is a complete non-event. You'll have no trouble getting any level of exercise you are up for -AND- have the ability to change that amount any time you like.

Personally, I would not have a bike without a throttle. WAY WAY too useful, even if it's not in use 99% of the time.

I did a long write up on my 700 and my Limited several weeks ago. The new 700 is probably better than mine.
