Hi, I have a commuter Pedigo bike now 7 years old and am looking at the Trek 2 or 3. Does anyone have any experience in what may be the big or small differences between the two brands these days? Thanks.

Trek is arguably a better brand but it uses the Bosch system which some DIY'ers don't like due to it's proprietary nature. This may not matter to you though.
The biggest difference however is the the Verve +2 is a class 1 bike and does not have a throttle. Your Pedego Commuter is a class 2 with throttle.

His Pedego Commuter is equipped with a hub-drive motor and external battery while Trek Verve+2 has an integrated battery and a mid-drive motor. As both motors offer similar torque, the Trek would feel a stronger e-bike for the OP.

Thank you for this information.

Thank you for this information. Very helpful.

Before we bought our Trek Verve 3+ we rented Pedigos. There were three of us and I have no idea what models of Pedigo but they were hub drive. They had throttles and seemed to have more power than our Treks. The power delivery is much smoother on the Treks and the Treks feel more like a regular bike with assist than the Pedigo, which felt more like a powered bike that you could also pedal.

Great information, thanks so much.
