Recently purchased a DJ mountain somewhat a basket case, it’s missing some components. Im in need of a derailleur drop hanger, as I understand there are unique to each frame. Could not fine any mfg name on the frame, any suggestions would be great.

Is there a bicycle co-op or bike kitchen in your area? Some carry parts salvaged from donated bikes that couldn't be saved. Their volunteers are often well versed on odd parts that will work on brands people bring in for some love.

Thanks, I bought this dj mountain ebike and it’s missing the rear derailleur and hanger. So I have no clue what shape it is, I have sent emails to dj bikes in Canada but he doesn’t seem to know what a derailleur hanger is.

Good idea about the bike co-up, but I’m about 40 miles north of Tampa Florida and I haven’t heard of any

Lacking a bike co-op, a local bike shop might be willing to help.

Without the bike and only going by what I see from the photo, I would guess this Sunlite S-009. Wheels Manufacturing makes a fancier one (it is USA machined vs. imported forged) for three times the price. But if you can and as others suggest, take it to a bike shop so they can look at the frame and make a better guess.

Order two and keep the spare in the bag you have (or should have) on the bike.

None of the local bike shops want to even look at it they want nothing to do with it. And the few that sell e-bikes will only look at what they sell.

You can bring the bike to my shop, but I'm a bit far from you.

I say order the Sunlite from Amazon. You can always return it if it is not the right one.

I don't envy you. You're going to have to get someone with a DJ to shoot a picture of their derailleur hanger with the guard and nut removed. At least get a picture of your frame, and Nova's detective work will be a lot easier.

Then you have go to ebay and look at the 60 odd hangers types they sell in China. Like here's 20 of them.

As a warning..make sure you buy a quality item.
Ive bought a few from aliexpress/ebay and they are made of cheese, bent in just putting the bike in its side and snapped off when I tried to bend it back.

Find one that does, surely there is one bike shop there willing to help you out. Have the shop to a general bike tuneup, along with the hangar installation, to make it worth their while. And ask for a couple of spare hangars!

I’ll continue to call around, thanks for the advice. I bought this “basket case” for a hundred dollars and it seems that the battery is still good, I hate the thought of just discarding the project
