Cycling Shorts?

I’m 75. Incontinence was a concern a few years ago when my prostate suggested rolling into a ball and limping. Treatment worked. Now my saddle helps hold it in.I turned 70 on 10/3, so incontinence is most likely on the horizon!

Well I am definitely old enough where trusting a fart is always a gamble. So maybe my biking shorts should be a very dark color.
I tried wearing shorts one time, but my legs are so unattractive that a petition was gotten up asking me not to do that.

No, the only advantage I've gained from old age is not having to zip my fly if I don't feel like it, or don't remember to.

I find that my ‘Depends’ give me all the support and comfort I need!
Plus on the longer rides there’s no need for a bathroom break!

About to break down and try some cycling shorts and tights for a single reason not mentioned so far.
Unlike my midriff, my butt's lost some volume in recent years. And that leaves a good bit of slack in the seats of the regular shorts and pants I like to ride in.
Problem is, that slack sometimes snags on the nose of my saddle when remounting after a stop. And that can be a safety issue when trying to squirt through an intersection — especially without a throttle. The long nose on my hub-drive's sqLab saddle is especially snag-prone.
Hoping that the tighter fit of cycling bottoms will eliminate this hazard. Appreciate all the shopping tips here.

I had the same snagging issue. Instead I changed the saddles on both my e-bikes to Selle’s saddles with the Concorde (droop) noses so I didnt have to change my wardrobe

Problem is, I hate playing saddle roulette and am loathe to keep experimenting once I find one that's reasonably comfortable — which is where I'm at with both bikes now. Took 5 iterations on the first, more upright bike, and the 2nd came with the most comfortable saddle I've ever had.

Update, my hips were still causing serious pain if I rode more than 3 hours. My commute to summer camp is 3.7 hours. I was using an evo cruiser 218x260 saddle with 1 cm padding. I bought a pair of Bellwether 02 mens cycling shorts, which turned out to have a 1 cm plastic pad built into them. I rode those for a month, under my dickies long pants, but the wide pad caused my inner quadriceps to twitch and spasm after my ride. I replaced the shorts with a selle royale explora saddle, which still had only 1 cm padding. However on top of that I put a cloud-9 double gel seat cover. 2 cm padding makes 4 hours comfortable in galvin cotton/poly briefs under dickies. Pity nobody will sell a 2 cm foam padded seat. Cloud-9 is not an option, my bike has a weird oversize seatpost, not 13 or 14 mm. Seat has to be rails like a brooks. My tinturi exercycle has such a 2 cm padded seat and I find it extremely comfortable. Unfortunately the post is 2 cm x 6 cm rectangular and will not fit any bicycle post or rails.
