Conversion kit for a bike courier? A new electric bike?

Hello dear bicycle users. I have a Specialized Sirrus Sport bicycle. I live in Bursa province of Turkey which has hilly and climbing roads and I started bicycle courier. Should I buy a 750w electric bike conversion kit from Bafang or Tongsheng or should I buy a new electric bike with a 250w Bosch Performance Line Cx 4th Generation 85Nm electric motor. Some users say that 250w Bosch motor electric bikes are more efficient than 750w Bafang and Tongsheng motors on hills and economical use of the battery. Those who have experience please share your experience with me.

Welcome! Reliability and battery range and safety would seem important to a courier. That would favor a new ebike from a reputable company in my mind, but members familiar with conversions might have a different take. Who would do the conversion?

I have converted two bikes with the Bafang BBS02B and two with the Tongsheng TSDZ2 mid-drive kits. The TSDZ2 are for light recreational riding, not for daily work in hilly country, They will break down and your food will turn cold. The BBS02B and the heavier BBSHD would be my suggestion for a work vehicle. If you keep the pedal rate high, they will never burn up.

There is a newer TSDZ8, which is 750W, but it is a torque sensor system, again intended for recreational riders who want the sporting feel of a bike. I have never seen one, but have read complaints on forums about the usual Tong Sheng problems with inconsistent torque sensor response on some motors.

The Bafangs don't care about torque sense. If the pedals move, they go, May not be sporty, but does a courier care?

That bike has rim brakes that will struggle to cope with the extra power/speed/weight of a conversion kit. I'd recommend buying a new bike.
