No idea what I’m doing but the computer/controller went bad 2 days after buying a used ebike. Will any one work? I found the same kind on line finally but for whatever reason they don’t ship to my home in Naples, Fl

Do you have a link to the one you found?

What brand is the used ebike you bought? The more info you give, the easier it is for us to help.

That's a display Tom. It tells the controller what you're wanting to do. Kinda like a keyboard does for a computer.

As @kiethj69 mentions, we're going to need more info to be of any help. Bike make and model would help. Maybe a picture of that, and maybe a pic the data plate on the controller, that shows the make and model info of that?

I'll start with a question regarding why you beleive the controller is bad?

Thx for helping

Thank you. I’ll check after work and text back.

It won’t power up. Just blinks sometimes. Seems shot

Try using a multimeter on the battery and check the voltage of it.

Must be a nice ebike, The C15 display comes in either the UART or CANBUS protocol and no one but Bafang appears to sell them, except for that one ebay guy in Australia who may not ship to USA.
.
Hows the battery voltage? Charged up?
.
When someone mentions CANBUS, I leave the room. That may be the future of ebiking, but I prefer to dwell in the past, on simpler things like $20 KT controllers and their displays, If something doesn't work, I just swap in known good parts.

My friend has an ebike. Checked harness and connections. Wish it was that
I'm not sure how a friend's bike is relevant. Does he have the same components? If yes you could swap. In my years of support, a problem connection was quite common and easily overlooked. But you have some good ideas given here to follow up on. Battery power is one.

Perhaps the most important tool in our kit is an inexpensive multimeter. Auto-off, self ranging, and capable of testing wiring for possible shorts.
I like auto-off because I'm a battery killer otherwise. YouTube has lots of how to videos!

There's really nothing there to be concerned with. Connectors changed, and one can be programmed, the other not, but other than that they function the same?

KT has it, hands down in spades, when it comes to programmable controllers and hub motors, but a UART based Ultra will just smoke a KT for the degree of finesse involved in the programming. Then there's the torque sensing....

Fingers still crossed for being able to get into the CANBUS some day. Not just for the Ultra based motors, but the M600 also has just a ton of potential.

I'm afraid your fingers will end up crippled from keeping them crossed for so long. I'm personally confident Bafang will do all it can to keep you (everyone) out. Look to Bosch and others. There have been no inroads...
