By using a small bungee cord, it resolved the issue of noise from a dangling kickstand when running over bumps.

Bitty bungee cord; great answer to a lot of bitty problems! One more step when you actually want to use the kickstand; however, interesting solution to a common irritation. Thanks @Mark Peralta :)

That is clever....but a good kickstand with a good return spring shouldn't rattle.

The bike trail that I ride through is a corrugating/buckling/crumbling/unmaintained road surface. All my 3 ebikes (one with IZIP factory kickstand) rattle. The surface looks similar to this except that mine is covered with crumbled pavement surface.. the Spring tension in all my 3 ebikes are the same.

I suspect that the vinyl tape around the hinge might be compensating for something needing attention.
That tape is used to hold a bolt stopper inside the housing to prevent the leg from over extending. That is the nature of using aftermarket parts, you have modify something for it to fit.

Washboard trails beat the L out of any bike. I ride some farm tracks and dirt roads like that. Greenfield makes a great, robust $10 kickstand, that doesn't hurt to buy new every couple years. Made right here at home too. I just replaced one after just a year and a half.

It's not exactly a "rattle", the abrupt impact to bigger road bumps causes the leg of the kickstand to momentarily drop and then go back up, making a tapping noise as it hits the upper stop.

I put a piece of adhesive back foam on the kickstand stand stop (in by the hinge). Only need a piece about 1/4" wide by 1" long. I thought about using a little silicone cabinet door bumper, but had the foam already. After 150 miles it's abraded a bit, but still silences the rattle on expansion joints.

I did the same route before and it softened the impact to the stopper, reducing the tapping noise into a soft thud. However, on repeated big bumps I am not comfortable if the kickstand would last a long time.

I wish the class 6 roads I ride on in New Hampshire were that good. Besides the potholes that swallow bikes we have large rocks that "peek" up at'ya for a bone jarring slam. Never road an IZIP so I can't comment on the bike.

Class 6 road begins at about 30 seconds in.

Here's the fender busting bike path that I ride through regularly. The fender fasteners just start to loosen and come off. But it's the right place to check for anything loose. I learned to use locktite to solve the issue and zip ties to prevent stuffs from coming loose.

The ebike below does not have fenders but I tie the kickstand to prevent it from bouncing.
