Charging multiple Bosch batteries in succession

We just purchased a second Bosch Powerpak 400 for my wife's e-Bike, to extend the time between re-charge on multi-day trips. My question is about the Bosch Compact charger actually. We have noticed how warm it gets charging the current battery. If we have stopped overnight somewhere and want to charge both batteries for the next couple of days, is it safe to charge battery #1 and when completed, just plug in battery #2 to the charger? Or because it does get noticeably warm, should we wait until the charger has cooled before starting battery #2. Any insight or information would be helpful.

Thank you.

I can’t imagine it would be a problem but I’d sure keep an eye on it during that second battery charge. I’d be concerned if it kept getting progressively hotter as the 2nd charge progressed.

Charger has always gotten warm from day one (when in use) with the original battery, so I assume that is normal. But we will keep an eye on it the first few times we do a back-to-back.

To officially answer this, you should be absolutely fine. If it is a known-working official Bosch charger, there should be zero issues. Our chargers get put to the test in a normal year at industry events that include demos...!

The charger should get cooler during the constant voltage phase of the charge (towards the end, topping off the last 5-10% to get to 100% charge).

Ok, sounds like we are fine charging the batteries back-to-back. I never really felt the charger over the course of charging a battery, so I will pay closer attention next time my wife charges them and see if I notice it get cooler. That would be a good indication that it almost done.

Thanks to all for the replies.
