Changing Wheel Size

My Wahoo ELEMNT doesn't record distance correctly for my Orbea Gain F20. Wahoo said my bike isn't supported, so there could be issues, but that I should check the wheel size. Can anyone tell me how I would do this? It's not in the eBikeMotion app... is it in Orbea's firmware of the bike? Thanks :)

Does it sync at all or it it using the GPS distance calculator?
So far I have only found the CoachSmart device will work syn with the Orbea Gains. They even inlcude on in the Gain M30 bikes.

It connects just fine, but it uses a sensor on the bike to calculate distance, not GPS. The wheel size is probably being calculated wrong so 10 spins should be 100m for example, but it reports as 90m. It would be better if you can just tell it to only use GPS for distance.

The diameter of a 700x25C tire is approx. 2.1 meters x 10 should only be 21 meters.
See the chart at https://www.cateye.com/data/resources/Tire_size_chart_ENG.pdf

There is no cadence sensor on the bike, but there is a PAS sensor on the rear wheel so that the signal could be used for RPM or speed.

When I used the CoachSmart device (included with Gain M30) it reported the speed in kilometers per hour and as I'm in the United States, I prefer miles per hour.

I'm interested in the Wahoo products as my older Garmin Edge 500 is dated and will not work with the Gain sensors.
I really don't want to have to mount my Garmin sensors to a bike that should already have them built in.

My wife and I are going a lot farther on the Gains than we ever did on our regular road bikes.
Last week we did 150 miles in 3 days with the last day's ride at 60 miles.
I don't need the cadence anymore. After getting the Gain my performance seems somehow unimportant.
Though a heartrate function seems important to me as my heart rate shot up as exhaustion set in on the last 5 miles of the 60 mile ride.

As you are getting some connection, can you change the assist level from the Wahoo Element?
Please let me know if you have any success with the assist level and speed?

Yes, I was making numbers up to explain what I feel was going wrong.

No, I don't think I can change the assistance from the Wahoo, I don't think the Wahoo transmits to any devices, only receives. For me it would be much harder to do through the Wahoo anyway, than the button next to my thumb while cycling. (The Wahoo can see what level I have selected, as well as battery level and remaining distance)

Did you ever get the speed/mileage issue solved.

I did see that the new Wahoo devices are ant+ Lev compatible, but it mentions only display metrics.
Can the assist level be changed from the Wahoo?

No, it's not been fixed. As said above - No, I don't think I can change the assistance from the Wahoo, I don't think the Wahoo transmits to any devices, only receives. :)

The bike comes with a Orbea version of the O-Sync CoachSmart which can display and change the levels using the Ant+ Lev.
The problem with this is it does not store any ride data so I have to keep GPSMyRide or Strava on my phone in my pocket.

The 2020 versions of the Gain have Ant+ Lev built in but nobody supports it properly.

if I understand what you’re trying to do correctly, you’d change the wheel size in the Wahoo app. Here’s where to find that:

JKS,

I understand the new Wahoo computers support Any+ Lev and Andy has had some success getting at least the LEV display functions working with his Orbea Gain. Does the Wahoo devices also allow assist level changes to Ant+ Lev compatible bikes like the Orbea Gains?

That's great thanks! My problem now, the app doesn't see the bike as a sensor in any way... :(
