Don't have to now either. They've opened can food that was a 100 years old and still safe to eat.

100 years might see me out, since I am already pushing 70 and doubt I will see 170 years.

I run a steel fabrication shop and the price of raw metals is taking off. Copper, steel, stainless and aluminum. We use mostly steel and I used to get quotes good for 90 days now my quotes are good for 48 hours. We do not use Chinese steel mostly American steel some Canadian. Also wood prices have gone up350%. All of this is hitting retail prices now.
I can’t explain why the shortages if the economy is running slower than normal. Most manufacturers never shut down but we have crazy demand for product and no supply of raw materials?

Yep. I bought enough canned food that I may have to check ex dates before I use it up. Never had to do that before...

I recently discovered a can of green chilis in the back of the pantry dated to expire in 2013. I wouldn´t
let the wife throw it out; ya never know when it might be needed

Bot sure about green chilis but the right peppers, the date may just be the half life date!
