I have an e- bike battery that the wires were cut by accident can you tell me the correct wiring.Im sure red goes to red but not sure of black wire or short red wire.
No damage to cells what I can see just need what wires go where they nly see 3 wires and im sure red goes to redPlease show the entire battery. Also, check and make sure no cells are damaged. Damaged batteries can be fire hazards!!!
ThanksSorry mate, I can't touch this. I do not want any responsibility.
Thanks hey if you dont know you dont know rock on
Both responses are from very experienced builders in the industry and I think they are expressing how dangerous batteries are. Ebike battery fires are becoming commonplace. Be very careful, looks damaged. Best of luck!Jarata said:

Can you point to your source of information? Seriously. Some people on EBR say that but I don't hear it anywhere else. And what do you mean by "commonplace"? I really don't think so.Ebike battery fires are becoming commonplace.
I posted this yesterday:Can you point to your source of information? Seriously. Some people on EBR say that but I don't hear it anywhere else. And what do you mean by "commonplace"? I really don't think so.
No argument with the advice given to though.

The first link contained 3 stories, one from 2018, that's the one from my brother's town, the other two are from this year. The Google search contains pictures of dozens and dozens of of ebike fires. I've read many of the stories. Pages and pages of results. Heaters and Christmas decorations are a strawman. The evidence is there, I don't feel the need to convince anyone.Your first link is from October, 2018. Four years ago. And there are about as many pictures of phone battery fires. There are probably more for home fires caused by Christmas decorations or portable heaters.
At least a significant portion of what you shared seem to have a lot to do with carelessness or cheap or do-it-yourself batteries.
f course I'm not saying ebike battery fires don't happen but how many ebike battery fires are there per 100,000 ebike batteries? You can call them commonplace but that seems like a real stretch to me.

It looks to be, and I asked for better pictures.Understand, but it isnt damaged i just took the to

For the most part limited experience and with no support, sales, or building experience. Some people on EBR
It looks like there IS damage.Understand, but it isnt damaged
I strongly support poster J.R. comment as well as others and think bringing your damaged battery (case) to a knowledgeable Bosch e-BikeBoth responses are from very experienced builders in the industry and I think they are expressing how dangerous batteries are. Please read original postI strongly support poster J.R. comment as well as others and think bringing your damaged battery (case) to a knowledgeable Bosch e-Bike
shop is a great idea. From the picture you provided, the battery case was dropped (?) and cracked. There could be internal damage to a battery. (?)
Damaged Lithium Ion Batteries have the potential to be extremely unstable.
A lithium Ion battery fire is nearly 'impossible' to extinguish....Question. Do you who or why the Black and Red wires were cut.
That is highly in unusual ?
John
You never said the wires were cut by drilling out the lock. You sir ought to really step back...the wires were cut by accident
You never did...Please show the entire battery.
"what I can see", so I pictured the area of concern to me. It's hard to tell from a photo and one angle... I have built serviced and fixed batteries...No damage to cells what I can see
Not as narrow as yours. In your narrow view…
