Bosch has a new system update?

Will any dealer that has Bosch bikes do this, or does the dealer have to carry the same brand of bike too?

A certified Bosch eBike Dealer should have all the tools needed to assist you with an update to your bike! If you have any specific inquiries on a dealer in your area, DM me and I will help out.

Not all dealers that sell Bosch bikes have the diagnostic tools to do it. Many do but not all.

Each LBS and the bike mechanics have to take and complete an online Bosch training course and they get certified and the diagnostic tools are then sent to the LBS.

Despite the course being online and remote pre-pandemic Bosch has ceased it for the last year or so because of the pandemic. So there hasn’t been an increase in Bosch e-bike certifications despite the skyrocketing sales of e-bikes.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. Bosch needs to get their act together and take their e-bike division more seriously.

They have increasing competition from Brose, Shimano, Mahle,Yamaha, Fazua and now even Bafang has set up shop in Europe.

Hey! Thanks for the feedback---while I cannot speak specifically for the Euro side of things, here in NA, our certification trainings have been rolling ever since March 2020. We quickly adapted to offer online training for NA-based dealers. We're always hard at work!

Makes sense and I’m glad.

The local Orbea and Cube Bosch e-bike dealer here told me about the delay last month. Maybe he hasn’t followed up with them in the last few months. I’ll bring it to his attention to touch base with Bosch to inquire about the status of those online training course for his staff.
