BMC and Stromer...

From this article, it's not clear that Stromer has yet been sold.

It sounds like that the news reported by this article is that in addition to attempting to find a buyer for Stromer, BMC has also decided to, and has completed, the sale of Bergamont.

SCOTT Sports SA Acquires Bergamont Fahrrad Vertrieb GmbH
(Givisiez, Switzerland, 25.06.2015)

In the course of the strategic re-organization of BMC Group Holding AG, SCOTT Sports SA has acquired the shares, including the Swiss assets of Bergamont Fahrrad Vertrieb GmbH from BMC. As of the end of June 2015, Bergamont Fahrrad Vertrieb GmbH will operate under the umbrella of SCOTT Sports SA.

In 2008 BMC acquired shares of Bergamont. Since then the turnover of Bergamont has been more than doubled and the company is very profitable and excellently positioned.

The re-organization of BMC Group Holding AG, including both of its entities BMC Switzerland AG and mySTROMER AG, intends on focusing on the activities of the sportive segments. "SCOTT Sports SA, as a well-established company within the bike and sporting industry is an ideal partner for Bergamont Fahrrad Vertrieb GmbH," says Thomas Binggeli, President of the board of BMC Group Holding AG.

By purchasing Bergamont Fahrrad Vertrieb GmbH, SCOTT Sports SA intends to enlarge its already broad bike portfolio. "A well established and successful brand like Bergamont fits perfectly within the existing bike portfolio of the SCOTT group," declares Beat Zaugg, CEO of SCOTT Sports SA. "Particularly in Germany, Austria and Switzerland we expect lots of positive synergies," Zaugg adds.

The agreed acquisition takes place with immediate effect. The agreed purchase price remains confidential. Stefan Berkes, founder and General Manager of Bergamont will leave the company after a transitional period for attending to a company in family property since 1938- however he will be available for consultancy. Going forward Bergamont shall be managed by the to date managers Mr. Martin Eberle (Head of Product Development) and Mr. Wolfgang Winkler (Administration/Finance) together with a new sales manager under the umbrella of the SCOTT group. The Swiss distribution shall be continued to be managed by Mr. Stefan Schär.

Bergamont distribution will be informed in detail about potential logistic changes within the next few days.

This all appears to be very good news for Stromer and Stromer bike owners! They should be poised to take a larger market share moving forward.

the article i read based on the Suntour fork recall said they are trying to sell of Stromer too . the article was not well written but if that is the case then Stromer is still for sale so I think that wouldn't be good news would it?

With such an awesome product, and a huge untapped market in so. California and usa(imo).
The lucky people who end up with this stromer bike business should be able to make money and develop and satisfy a need most Americans don't even know they need. Apple style.
Local twenty something (smart) bike shop employee said it best " once people realize the traffic dodging, transportation, exercise, fun factor- it's game over". That was concerning future restrictions.
I have yet to see another "real" ebike in our 120,000 pop. Town, and only a handful in so. Cal.
Between game over(worst case scenario bike path bans) and today's reality of never even spotting one in so. Cal. There should be millions of stromers easily sold right here in so. Cal

Press release

Stromer continues expansion into new markets – Britain and Ireland now on board

Oberwangen, July 17th 2015 – myStromer AG is exploiting the upturn of the fiscal year to date by tapping into
two more markets in the shape of Britain and Ireland. To service these markets, it is embarking on a strategic
cooperation with UK based Bikes GB. Bikes GB will take over distribution of the ST1 and ST2 as early as
August 2015.

The e-bike market in Britain and Ireland is still in its infancy. In Manchester, for instance, just 1.8 percent of
daily journeys are being made on two wheels. In Amsterdam, by comparison, the figure is 27 percent! Major
cities such as London need solutions if the rapid growth in demand for mobility is to be satisfied in the long
term. Boris Johnson, mayor of London, is an enthusiastic supporter of his city and e-mobility. With a massive
rise in the number of commuters taking the bike to work each day, London is currently investing heavily in
e-bike friendly infrastructure. The potential in these markets is therefore of huge significance for
myStromer AG.

Bikes GB

Bikes GB has been specifically formed by Tomos GB Ltd. to focus on the electric bike and scooter market in
the UK & Ireland and will take over distribution of the leading Stromer e-bike brand. Founded in 1954, Tomos
was a pioneer in 2 wheel transport and now the privately owned UK operation is leading the way in
developing the e-bike market with it's Bikes GB electric bike and scooter distribution business. With a focus
on premium European electric brands such as Govecs and QWIC, Bikes GB is ideally placed to develop the
Stromer brand in the UK & Ireland. It is clear that myStromer AG and Bikes GB share and embody an
innovative and pioneering spirit.

Doubt Stromer survives the year. St2 has to be a money loser. And the have no reasonably priced bikes. And no mid drives.

BMC isn't large enough to carry a brand losing money
How do you figure st2 has to be a money loser? Hopefully your not basing it on rumors of over-budget on omni(Atari like) stuff. If they spent much time and money on that stuff- well, whatevers.......Mid-drives are no comparison, if you have not tried both.
