Biktrix full-suspension purpose-built ebike

This is the Max, right? So you are getting that custom frame and Bosch look. The Max has taken a long time to show up. Any problems, at this point? Prodeco was going to use the Max, but shifted to Panasonic. The Karmic went with the Max and they are way behind schedule.

Hope someone like Court can do a review, get an idea of how good the torque sensor is, how good the suspension components are.

The BBS drives have gotten ridiculous, with people using gear shift sensors, CV transmission, other tricks, just to make it pleasant to ride. Does the Max solve this crap?

Hopefully a big battery.
 
Looks like a very compelling package (especially at your introductory price point).

Yes. this is the Max drive. It rides awesome. The motor comes on very intuitively - more force you apply on the pedals, more assist you get. It's really a completely different beast from the BBS02. I found myself really enjoying the Max drive. Love it where the assist needs to be more controlled.

Do you have any video of this bike in action? Also what size frame and tired are on the bike.
 
The lowest priced Haibike is around $2500. That's the Yamaha sDuro line, but the basic model. People say it is pretty close to the Bosch. No one knows much about the Max. Since it is not high wattage, it's probably as good, internally, as the BBS02.

People are really picky about torque sensing systems. People want a motor that absorbs the stresses of shifting. This could be a 'half-price Haibike', in which case it's really bad news for the European companies.

It would be hard to buy without a pretty good understanding of what the motor can do, and how well the bike handles trails. For $1600 it wouldn't have to be perfect, but you'd want a solid bike with good response, that shifts well under stress, that sort of thing.

This Bafang unit impressed me a lot. I tried Shimano, Yamaha, Bosch and the Bafang. The Bafang unit feels like it puts out way more torque than others. The ride feels very natural. Every pedal stroke, you feel like its you - just stronger. Unlike the BBS motors where its sheer power. You pedal little and whoa you're gone. In this Max drive, you pedal and the assist is proportional to your effort. I like to say it feels like a bicyclist's choice for a motor!
 
This bike looks and sounds pretty good. Constructive criticism imho the bike would look way better with the battery at least partially integrated into the frame.
 
I noticed there is a specs page, and a comparison. Peak watts of 750, which is legal max generally. Good for hills. Biktrix not pushing the bike into Cal Class 3, with a 28 mph limit. Since it is a trail bike, that's probably logical. Mountain Goat, after all.

Looks great! How does it compare to the fatty as far as riding goes? Imagine that rear suspension is nice on rough stuff at speed. What's the weight like?

It rides very different from the Juggernaut. For me, I love the Juggernaut because it feels SOLID. Sometimes I prefer the MonteCapro when I need Agility over sheer power. The torque sensor is sure nice on the MC though.
 
Yup, initially very appealing...but as George outlined above, with some important details unknown. And my apologies for beating the dead or dying horse, but this was another product launch I had in mind when making the observation/suggestion over on the CrossCurrent thread that a simple, short intro video would be oh-so beneficial for both the company and the potential customers. Every design detail doesn't have to be locked down for a video to attract lots of (additional) attention. Let's wish them well as this seems to be a great alternative, not just another same-same.

Jack, the reason we don't have a video yet is not because we haven't finalized on the components but because it is the middle of winter here and extremely challenging and expensive to get a video done with the caliber we want. Let me know of any specific technical questions you have and I'll be glad to answer.
 
Roshan, thank you for the offer which I do appreciate. I'm making more of a marketing point rather than expecting a video to resolve technical questions. (Obviously, eventual user reviews will be very helpful in that regard and offer comparisons with similar products. But those are unlikely to be available for the 100 early adopters you are seeking). You've done a very polished job of creating the art work, few pics and text for a web page, yet it just seems a missed opportunity at this point in time to lack a video companion.
