Bike trails in niagara falls area?

Planning a trip to the US side of niagara falls in a couple weeks (believe the border to canada is still closed). Never been out there before.

Is it worth bringing the eBike along? Are there any good bike trails in the area?

While we are on the subject, what are the must do tourist activities in the area, on the US side?

9 mile Kiwanis Park Trail. https://www.traillink.com/trail/kiwanis-park-trail/

3.9 mile Niagara Scenic Park Trail https://www.traillink.com/trail/niagara-scenic-parkway-trail/

6.5 mile Niagara Gorge Rim Trail https://www.traillink.com/trail/niagara-gorge-rim-trail/

22 mile Shoreline Trail https://www.traillink.com/trail/shoreline-trail/

You can also pick up the western end of the 291 mile Erie Canalway Trail near Hoffman, NY. https://www.traillink.com/trail-maps/erie-canalway-trail/

On the US side, Goat Island offers good fall views and is likely to be open. Unfortunately, many of the good tourist spots are on the Canadian side.

Here is a link listing other good POI's in the area:

Hope you can get across to the Canadian side, but if not there is a "Maid of the Mist" boat ride by the falls that is available from either side. Highly recommended from the CA side at least, and it shouldn't matter which side you get on.

Thank you very much for this.

I was going to combine a trip to niagara falls with a trip to watkins glen/finger lakes.

I saw in another post of yours that you recommended some trails in the watkins glen area.

I won't have time to do all of these trails on my trip, so which ones would you say are the highlights?

I think ebikes under 500/750w are legal on the roads around both sides and I saw lots of bike tourists at the falls 10 yrs ago. I would expect at least a bike lane or two by now. Enjoy the falls ... it really is worth it ...

Maid of the Mist is definitely a fun experience and one of the things that is just as good even if you can't go to the Canadian side. I was unable to go the the Canadian side because I don't have a passport. I tried to get one but because of a name spelling error on my birth certificate (from 1947 when doctors filled in birth records by hand), I was unable to get a passport without jumping through a bunch of hoops and providing required documents that my parents never gave me. Now I can't get Real ID for the same reason. No more flying or going in to court houses for me I guess. Maybe it is why I have never been called for jury duty although my wife has twice.

IMO, the best scenic trail at the falls is the Niagara Gorge Rim Trail. The 22 mile Shoreline trail is interesting but it is mostly on road.

If you click on the links to the trails, there are rider reviews which offer a lot of good information.
