I'm looking for a folding ebike to taken our truck camper. I have a 36" inseam, and also live n Canada, so I want something I can get serviced. Also preferably not too heavy, as it has to be lifted in and out of the back seat of of our truck. It must have pedal assist, though the option of throttle as well is okay. It will be used on trails and roads. Many thanks!

I started out looking for a folder, but bought a full frame for my camper, so I'm replying just to keep this thread alive until someone who knows can jump in. The Lectric XP is a popular, inexpensive folder with an active sub forum here, and Court just reviewed the Montague for a top of the line folding ebike.
Happy hunting and welcome to EBR.

Look at Lectric XP or ST and Wallke XP pro for folders. The Lectric is going to be around 63 pounds and the Wallke 66 pounds. After owning a folder, I probably wouldn't buy another as it becomes a pain to fold and unfold...

Just bought a Tern Vektron P9. I’m 6’2 And wife is 5’6. It’s super adjustable seat post and handlebars/stem will ensure a perfect fit. Rides great, good torque and quality features. It does ride like a folder or smaller wheeled bike.

Our local bike store where we bought our full size bikes carries Tern, but won't have any in until spring. Many thanks. Will investigate them further.

I have seen them, but they are quite large when folded. 2 of them in the back seat would take up all the space I think.

How long are your legs? My husband is 6'2" but has a 32" inseam. Big difference!

i have not looked at that new montague folder and it is built different but one thing i noticed is if you check the actual listed folded dimensions of my montague with a kit against my pedego latch and evelos new folder they are the same or super close

before buying i quickly folded a latch and the montague next to each other and the montague looked bigger ... but i noticed this on all my research, that none of the 20 inch folder dimensions were smaller

unfortunately i have not had my montague at the house to do some actual comparisons, been at the shop waiting on tires

but will try to do a write up on it soon

i dont know but this may be something to consider

this folder has a specific use for me and i needed more power and range than most small 20 inch folders are built with so i got the montague to try

Which Montague do you have? And do you have an aftermarket conversion?

montague swissbike x70 with bbs02

have a feeling the folding dimensions are similar because the montague is more square shaped and the others rectangular but not sure the 20 inch bikes take up less space actually

this does not apply to the new one with shimano motor, i have not even looked at the specs on that

When I was looking into it, most of the 20 inchers took about the same amount of space, but weighed almost twice what a paratrooper with an aftermarket kit and battery weighed.

I assume you are near Penticton. Which shop is that? I bought from JV bikes in Vancouve, they had them $400 off.

YEs, OK Falls. Freedom says they carry them. We may need to do a road trip to try some and shop prices. Tough with COVID now.
