I picked up an old DB Sorrento on Craigs List for $40, the only thing wrong with it was the broken left crank arm. Since the whole crankset gets replaced anyway it was perfect for my first DIY project. The 750 watt 8FUN motor kit delivered from China with 11.6 amp Samsung battery cost me $815. Total cost of my project: $855.
The GoPro camera I used to make this video was mounted on the handlebars so the mechanical noise is amplified, it's actually much quieter than what the video depicts.
