Hi!
I would like to receive a confirmation from a connoisseur of the bafang 250w BBS01B central engine. When the electric motor is switched off is it quite normal that there is a great difficulty in pedaling so to advance the cycle? Or should the cycle advance normally simply taking into account the weight of the engine?
thanks for your interest!

There is no added pedaling resistance... the bike feels the same but as you say with added weight.

Hey gionnirocket!
thanks for this reply!
so Im right, my ebike has a problem, because when the engine is totally off I feel a big resistance to the point I have to stop!
I think maybe the clutch is kaputt and I hope it's that because I ordered new parts....
And if not the clutch so what? My transmission is fast new and works well when the motor is on...

I can't help you with what may be wrong... But there are a few here with much more experience that I'm sure will answer. But the clutch does sound like a reasonable answer.
That said... To confirm have you removed the chain and spun the cranks by hand?

still not but I will try that

Hi!
I just verify the clutch spunning the crank by hand, chain removed : no problem here....
Now im thinking maybe it's the mosfets in the controller, I believe there are 5 of them : maybe one or 2 are kaputt: I don't know where to search.
Help welcome. Thanks.

I am a little confused. If the motor spins freely without the chain... Why do you think that you have a problem?
When exactly are you feeling the resistance?

You’re not alone to be confused…
I running the bike after the verification, without battery and motor and surprise! All is well, pedaling is not at all hard!
The resistance I experience comes after e-biking when I shut down the motor and battery.
In any case I will e-biking in a moment or so and I will tell you if the resistance is still there or not.

I believe this is called being tired 🙃

But I think I may know of what you speak.
Sometimes, usually near the end of my ride if I am in a low PAS (receiving no assistance) and cadence is above motor speed I think I feel a little motor resistance... But if I go to PAS 0 it seems to disappear
But it is so minimal and I am usually tired by then that it is difficult to quantify or verify if it is just perception.

for me the perception is evident when it occurs. But I have to bike for some so I will perceive all I can...and then post.

A couple of weeks ago, i received a new bike. Put it together and rode it around the block. Even though it was reputed to be 20 pounds, it was so slow. Then I lifted the front wheel off the ground and gave it a spin., Ahh, the front brake was dragging,

Check both wheels.

Yes, that's one reason I have checked. And yes I had to change the rear brake. Moreover my rear wheel is a little curved but for this I did nothing.

But it is so minimal and I am usually tired by then that it is difficult to quantify or verify if it is just perception.
And yes im back from my ride and you're right, it's mainly a perception. No mechanical defection and that's good!
Thanks for your post and maybe another time!
