Battery indication when charged

Wondering what folks experience is with the battery charge values after being charged.

After charging in evening - 100%
Next day at noon - 93%
Quick run around the block - 90%
then after sitting about 20 min - comes back up about 2%

This sound normal? Mainly the overnight drop of 7%

The rest could be explained as surface charge dropping under load, then the chemistry topping it back up.

New 2016 bike, 2015 battery - which I figure is 'new' as of manufacture. Was in the 90% range delivered.

Have noticed a bit of drop overnight, but I don't remember it being in the 7% range. I would judge your observation as perhaps more "normal" than necessarily a larger problem? I'm also thinking that a year old battery may very well exhibit these characteristics. I will most likely find that out next summer, if not before. I have approx. 700 miles on my ST-2, bought in June of this summer...

Once charged do you remove the charger? What model 1 or 2? Since it is new it really shouldn't be doing this, initial reaction if something is wrong it is the battery, can you test with another battery, borrow from the dealer maybe? Or better buy a new one for longer rides! :)

ST1

First time charged up, charger shut off, then back on in a few sec for about 5 sec, then off, on etc a few times then stopped.
2 nights ago charged overnight. Figured maybe the cells would settle down and take a bit more.
next day 100%.
Took battery out overnight and put it back today- 100%
Short 2 km spin around the block down to 92%
hour later checked and it came back up 2%

So looks like i'm losing 6% in the initial use, even a couple km.
After that - a good 8km run each way with a few small but steep hills, have 70% remaining. That seems fair.

The initial quick drop is still a small concern since it's new.

Seems reasonable, batteries seem to have characteristics all unto their own and it is most times difficult to ascertain teir shelf-life.
