Hello,

New problem with my bbs02..

Motor runs by itself (Autopilot) I can pedal one time and then it accelerate by itself? And keep going to top speed. It came up with error 4 (throttle will not go to zero state) I have tried with new throttle and it's still the same. I have dismounted the throttle and still the same (just no error 4)

Could it perhaps be the PAS circuit sensor that needs replacement? When I pedal myself I feel like a stop go stop go feeling... With a small rumbling in the pedals.

I don't think it's the PAS circuit. It only senses two things, pedal movement (speed) and pedal direction. What happens when you back pedal? Nothing I hope, if it does engage, it could mean the direction sensor is bad. Since you are getting an error 4, it usually means you have lost the ground to your throttle and it is in a 'float' state, and will slowly accelerate to speed as you are describing. Check your wiring for nicks, cuts or breaks that could have caused a loss of ground to the throttle. If all looks well, I would suspect either the main wiring harness has an internal break you cannot see or the controller has a break where the wiring ties to the board. You will not see that either without removing some of the potting material from the controller, it could also be an internal break in the harness part of the controller. Do you have a spare harness or controller? Do you know someone who does or who has a BBS02 that you could swap parts with to pinpoint the problem component?

While it's an expense none of use like, I had a display , clutch, harness, and throttle at ready from my first year. The backups have grown since then. They will always sell and recover oct of the cost if not needed and I go to another system. AND I'll never have to wait. I have more but I'm a bit overboard.

I agree! I have spares of all just for testing purposes. I hate waiting for what I think it is just to receive it and then find it is something else!

Nice! Thanks for the heads up Mark! I've just slowly acquired mine from build leftovers and upgrades, but this is just the ticket for the single bike owner who needs to figure it out quick. Thanks for sharing!

Let me know if you still have the problem after that. I had a similar issue but mine was caused by experimenting with the program settings of the controller. I dialed down the the "slow-start mode" from 8 to 7 and it solved the issue.

Did anyone happen to save this file?
