Bafang 750w hub motor issues

I have a Quietkat bike.. My hub motor finally went out so I ordered a new one and installed it. it was actually the whole wheel assembly.. the problem I am having now is that my speedometer is reading really high and I am only getting busts of speed... I opened up my hub motor to check for loose magnets and whatnot.. everything looked good.. I did notice that my new hub has six magnets where my old hub only had one...could this be the issue.. and if so how do I fix it?

You have to change the LCD setting to show 6 pulses/revolution for speed (quite common for Bafang motors). This is possible with many LCD's, but dunno about yours. If your unit cannot be changed, you can switch to a external wheel sensor and run its output in place of the wire used by the motor. A more drastic effort is to remove five of the six magnets, if they are not being used by the Hall sensors.
