Bafang 1000 Mid Drive

I have a bike with the Bafang 1000 Mid Drive (1500W max output). The pedal assist will ofter cut out and the only way I can get it to work is by blipping the thumb throttle (sometimes several times). Has anyone else here experienced this problem? Is it an easy fix?
 
I don't know. The first thing I would do is disconncet your throttle. The throttle and torque sensor are mapped together. A faulty throttle can cuause the PAS to not activate. Ride the bike for an extended period of time with the throttle unplugged and see if the problem persists. If not, you're golden.. If yes, you've eliminated that possibility.
 
Any details of your ebike and what riding conditions with the Bafang mid drive you notice the issue? No issues yet. with my Himiway Cobra Pro with the Bafang M620 mid drive with throttle (1000w/160Nm w/ 1300w peak).

And here we go again... What is a Bafang 1000 mid drive? There is no Bafang 1000 model number.

OEM motor or DIY kit motor?

In my m620 experience the throttle and torque sensor compliment each other and the signals feels blended together. Unlike on the BBS* where the higher signal overrides the lower when the throttle is set to current.
That said, disconnecting the throttle and testing as suggested... Sure, why not. Easy place to start.

I Don't Like That !!

Mapping the brakes, throttle, torque or cadence sensors, or any other sensors together on a single data wire is Just Wrong in my opinion.

I want independent, fail-safe sensors and circuits that can't interfere with each other.

I'm guessing that's what happened to this guys throttle, only it went to Full Throttle, instead of cutting the power.

I was attempting to reply to your question,
that per Biktrix, they have listed a 1000W motor.......

In using my lowest gear, my top speed is still over 7 mph when pedaling, and it is some times too fast, for some of the rough spots I am finding.

In using my lowest gear, my top speed is still over 7 mph when pedaling, and it is some times too fast, for some of the rough spots I am finding.

What PAS are you in when trying to go slow?
You can swap out for a smaller chainring in the front which will give you more torque at a slower speed with your current rear sprocket set.
We can also take a look at the programming of the Ultra.

I only use PAS step Eco 1 95% of the time,
I am not into speed, I like slow and slower LOL
I would like to get a bit slower, BUT I don't want the hurt my motor or bike.......

You need a smaller chain ring.
Get the smallest that will fit your motor/ebike.

You'll be able to ride slower without bogging down your motor.

You'll have more power/torque at slower speeds too.

I just bought a 44t slow speed hill climbing sprocket for my Bafang BBS02B mid-drive,..

The smaller chainring is actually better for your motor as well.
Default on the Ultra is typically 40t... I know I've seen 36t...but there might even be smaller
Do you know what's currently on there?

So you've most likely got a 44t chainwheel with a 30t option available.

In using my lowest gear, my top speed is still over 7 mph when pedaling,


With the 30t chainring, your top speed should then be reduced to about 4¾ mph.
(7 ÷ 44 × 30)

You'll need to shorten your chain, and you might need spacers for the 30t chainring, but Biktrix will know what you need and what you'd need to do.
