Hey all.
I have a 1st gen Aventon Pace 500. There's a USB port on the battery labeled "not for charge use, for data only". Here's my question: I'm assuming that means don't plug the port into a charger to charge the bike battery. But what about charging say, a bike light from that port? Or using it in an emergency to charge your phone? Would that be possible? The only answer I got from Aventon is that they don't recommend it because it could affect the battery performance and life span. I would think most bike light batteries would be only a very small drain on the bike battery, tho.
