I went into our LBS to pick up some chain degreaser and lube, and the sale price for the Fat Tire Aventon Aventure 2 was $1499, not bad uh? I just picked up my Level 2 a couple weeks ago, and this dicounted price was a couple hundred dollars cheaper than my Level 2. Nonetheless, while a solid looking bike, it is just too much bike for my needs, which 95% of my riding is done on asphalt.

Aventon is switching to a 36 volt system on their new models, and clearing out their existing inventory. I was looking for a new bike recently and heavily looking at the Pace 500.2 and 500.3, then out comes the Pace 4 with the new 36 volt system. The dealer says they are streamlining a lot of their parts to be interchangeable between bikes for cost effectiveness and switching to 36 volts. I test drove the Pace 4 and was impressed with it power and features, I did buy the bike and it has been very good, it's light weight agile and fast. My previous bike was 48 volts and honestly I can't tell the difference, Aventon might be on to something here?

Also with a 36v battery, you can have more P groups (10S5P) with the same amount of cells in a 48v battery (13S4P). The 36v battery (with more P groups) will have an easier time providing the current requested by the rider. Or just have 10S4P and have a lighter battery.

If your 48v bike had a speed limit, most have a 20mph "default" limit, then you won't notice a difference with a 36v bike. A 36v bike would go about 20-22mph.
