Air Gauge - Recommendations?

I am looking for recommendations on air gauges. I have had my Giant eMTB for a few months now for both riding in town and some trails. But I want to get into some more trail riding and find the appropriate tire pressure for my weight and riding conditions.

I dont mind paying a few extra bucks for a good quality unit, something that allows me to adjust psi by 2-3 pounds as I find my preferred tire pressure.

I have a couple of pressure gauges in the shop; pump mounted, electronic, and mechanical. I find that I prefer the mechanical. The pump mounted gauge isn't accurate enough. The electronic one is harder to use. The mechanical is just right (apologies to Robert Southey and "Goldilocks and the Three Bears").

My mechanical gauge is a Planet Bike;

There are a number of others.

It's rugged enough to take on multi-day trips and convenient enough for the shop.

I've used this for over 15 years on road bikes, MTB's, cars, trucks, etc. easily switches between presta a schrader. Had a cracked battery cap one year, called Topeak and they sent me a replacement for free.

At one time I had 8 bicycles and 3 cars/trucks. This made my life much easier. It is usually stocked by Home Depot for about $40, and you have to purchase a 18 v Ryobi battery extra.

It has a digital display that you can set the desired air pressure and it will cut off when reached, and it's very accurate. When you attach it to a valve, it also reads out the current air pressure. Highly recommended for the garage. I also carry in in the truck when going off road for airing the tires back up after going 4 wheeling. It comes with a hose and attachments for blowing up rafts, air beds, etc.

Now theres a justification for a bike trailer!

I like the little Topeak gauge. One thing is that if you are on the road carry a few spare batteries because you might not get a flat tire at a store that carriers CR Lithium batteries.

That cordless Ryobi looks nice. I picked up one of these at costco a few years ago, not cordless but works great! I think it was under $40. Seems they no longer sell it.

this was the first unit my LBS pulled off the shelf when I asked for a digital gauge. easy to operate. Tested on our vehicles and my wife’s schrader valves and the pressures looked good. Tested my presta tubes on my plus tires on my MTB and I was surprised how low the pressure was. the gauge is probably correct but I will have to confirm against another gauge.
