LEV Manufacturing, formally known as Life EV, which was formally ProdecoTech is based in Florida. They have always assembled their ebikes in their facility in Florida. The company was started by former GM executives.

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla., Nov. 22, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- LEV Manufacturing, Inc. (formerly known as Life Electric Vehicles, Inc.), a prominent E-Bike manufacturer with 16 plus years of experience and Lane VC, a mobility focused investment firm announce the acquisition of Serial 1 Cycle Company, LLC. The strategic collaboration signifies a transformative moment for both companies, amplifying their commitment to revolutionize the E-Bike industry and commitment to build the premier bikes in the USA.

Good to know, thanks. Makes sense for a defunct brand (ProdecoTech) to buy the Serial 1 brand to get back in the game.

That would make at least 5 brands with e-bike final assembly lines in the US from imported frames and parts: Electric Bike Company, Pedego, Day6, Motivate (Lyft ebikeshare bikes), and soon likely Serial 1;
Plus another 5 brands that both do final assembly with imported parts but also make some or all of their frames in the US including: Optibike, Detroit Bikes, Vela Bikes, Worksman, & Bike Friday.

Interested to see how possible future federal manufacturing incentives, tariff reform, legislation to close the "de minimis" loophole, and initiatives like Chris Nolte & Justin Kosmides Bloom project, might increase the proportion of brands doing US domestic e-bike assembly.

ProdecoTech had a couple of frames made in the US. Court (EBR) did a review on them. They also built wheels in Florida, as shown in the video below. Robert Provost, CEO, and one of the original owners still owns the company, that eventually became Life EV. The ebikes were the same as the ProdecoTech bikes, just rebranded as Life EV.

Pete Prebus, at the other EBR posted this 10 years ago.

Robert Provost's Linkedin page lists him as a Serial 1 board member for 5 months. This deal was in the works for a while. I like Serial 1 offerings; they just didn't make a model that suits me. I hope the 'Built in the USA' works out for the brand.
