48v 19.2ah max charge volts?

Hi - I got the 19.2 ah 48v battery with my CCS and noticed it charges to 54.2V instead of 54.6 volts. This is still a 97% charge and I only charge to 80% for daily use, so the impact to me is negligible, but I'm curious if others have seen this as well.

I have. I have the same bike and battery. I typically charge to 80% but accidentally left it on the charger over night once. I checked the voltage (it displayed in the mid 53 volts) and was surprised that it was not at 100% according to this chart:

Now you have me thinking - it was a while ago, and I might have my number wrong. When I get my new wheel I'll double check that max charge. Battery life extension, maybe?

If you're using the stock 2 amp charger, it doesn't charge to 100%. Somewhere on this forum, Tora said it charges to 95% and this conforms to my experience. I usually get ~53.7 V on a "full charge," which is just under 95%. Looks like you're getting a little more.

Given the battery chemistry, it seems that any little bit less than 100% will contribute to battery life. Not like only charging to 80%, but still. If I'm wrong about this, I hope someone will provide better information.

Me, I see this as a feature rather than a bug.

I doubt many of us at home have digital multimeters accurate enough to bet the mortgage on a .2V difference at 50V. Used to have one. Not any more.

I get the reading off my Luna advanced charger. But I think Bruce and devhead are most likely right - it's topping out in the mid 53V range. It's just been a while since I fully charged my battery so I probably mis-remembered. Thanks for the explanation, Bruce! That's what I suspected as well but just making sure.
