27 gears no longer available on Xduro Trekking

Anyone know why Haibike dropped their 27 gears on their Xduro Trekking RX line for 9 gears on their 2015 model?

It seems like the new trend on mountain bikes is to go with either a 2x9 or 1x10. With an ebike 27 gears my not be necessary.

I'm sure we've all noticed the dropping prices of these and other high end bikes.
Fair to say that some of that is going to come in the way of reduced component pricing.
And agreed that triples really aren't needed with E boost.

The trekking isn't a mountain bike, it's a commuter/urban ride.

I was considering the Trekking but the 3-speed rear hub made me hesitate. I'd heard that the hub would not stand up to the power applied by the Bosch motor. I ended up with an Urban instead.
