I'm in Louisiana. I just converted my first Ebike. My. conversion is the TSDZ2 with a shark battery. My cost was $1000 + about $100 for miscellaneous parts. I am super happy. I know now that I don't need 750 watts, so the setup is overkill. I have more range and power than I need. However ... I need to convert three more bikes. I have two residences (Louisiana, Colorado) and I have two riders (me, wife). Originally I was doing the conversion for the Colorado hills, but since I rode the Ebike, I want a Ebike in Louisiana also. It's just too awesome not to have.
To keep things simple (and cheap), I'm going to use the identical setup. And I realized I can save money because I really only need one charger and two batteries (total). I don't mind transporting the charger and batteries between residences - so that will save me having to buy two expensive batteries.
So the conversion for the first two bikes is $2000 total
The conversion for the second two bikes is $1000 total
So I ultimately end up with a price of $750 per bike.
Maintenance and parts will be easier.
