2025 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

Her view count is game changing for some of the countries she passed through, the comment section is fawning over the two local men who helped her get through the river, literally millions of people around the world seeing humanity in a place they would brush off as troublesome without investigation.
Of course they could have been doing it because they knew how many people were watching, but I have tonput my cynicism back in its pocket now and then
Doesnt change the outcome though

All those ‘-stan’ countries aren’t nearly as dangerous as people think . Even Afganistan is safe . Some of these countries used to be part of the Soviet Union, and some didn’t. But they all step forward to better life in different areas ( and hospitality and safety also are the part of this way as well )

So true--maybe there's hope for the human race after all.

Unless you are female?

I cannot forget questions asked her by some police officer in an Islamic country:
-- Alone?
-- Alone.
-- No husband?
-- I need no husband.
-- How old are you?
-- 37.
-- A woman of that age in our country would have four children by now. Why aren't you married?
-- Is it a police question...?
-- Yes. I mean, no no no no no!
:D
The other issue is people only watching these more dramatic videos and thinking all of Tijikistan is this.
Its a beautiful country, and Id be all over those trails and breakfasts.
I looked at it from an e-biker perspective. The distances are too big. One issue is while you would get help from some locals if you ran off petrol, nobody would bring you electricity in a jerry can. And... I would have never ridden the wilderness alone!

I was very much interested to see thousands of slackers in uniforms on so many borders and checkpoints where she rode. Now think of the European Union having no internal borders, same with the states in the U.S. or Canada.

Are you ready Dima to do Temporary Import Permit (TIP) of your e-bike on each border?

Well...hmmmm, that could be repeated by many in the UK, its old school.
Not Harem old school, just women and men have their place old school.

I can imagine the conversations after she rides through..'I saw you looking at that western woman, should I get a motorbike and ride alone with men?'

'You would not shame me'.

'Maybe I will, you keep the cows, Im going to Hollywood!'.

Im writing a movie script here.

I cannot help noticing she spills more often than I do these days :)

She started appreciating lightweight low power motorbikes before the last trip. Like that 250 cc, 24 HP, 103 kg Honda CRF250L. She noticed it was so easy to cross rough terrain if the bike was lightweight. Which reminds me of the difference between the powerful and heavy Vado 6,0 of mine compared to my weak but lighweight Vado SL, which is indeed a way better off-road. I think she chose the 600 cc Yamaha for the last trip because a lot of climbing en route.

They just want to get married on a western woman!))))

Anyway, these are just a questions ) I 💬 in Europe nowadays we may meet the same behavior))
I think further inappropriate behavior impossible))) don't know for sure, but probably punishment for raping in Muslim countries could be much more stricter than in USA and in Europe ( I know it is different from State to the State), but in Muslim countries raping probably could lead to the death penalty( Maybe in 99 cases from 100)

"In our country, a woman always goes outside in a company of a man, even to the marketplace". Why is it so, Dima? I think it was the safe part of Yemen.

Noraly Schoenmaker in Yemen.

Where is the line, I see young girls walking around my town in the summer wearing clothes that would look edgy in a blue movie.
It cycles through the ages, its just that the western world is out of sync with Islam at the moment, 150 years ago the strictest muslim would approve of our dress sense.

That script has been already done by Key & Peele…both in mid eastern garb hanging out on a corner…woman in hijab passes and they start excited guy talk about seeing (maybe) the flash of an ankle
I’ll look for it
