A Chargeride Ride :)
I didn't know Chris would buy a Levo (a special commendation from me!) but wanted to show @Chargeride how interesting trails can be found by Komoot (instead of riding through a farming field!) So I followed the newly discovered route... Only didn't take into account we have had heavy raining over the last two days! :D :D :D

Now, I had to carry my Fearless. No worries, the e-bike is really lightweight now!

There was a straight gravel road at that point before. The farmer has, however, decided to make use of his land. He also brought the concrete barriers to prevent any traffic.

Without Komoot, I would have never realized there was a perfect shortcut (unless it had been raining) :D

Chris, I know it seems impossible with you but wouldn't you register yourself and the e-bike at Specialized.com? It would allow you using the Specialized App with the full access to the e-bike data, and with the possibility of tuning it. The Levo tuning capabilities exceed what we can do to our Vado, Vado SL or a Creo.

Also, the e-bike should have a little label at the bottom of the top tube with the Manufactured Date. I'm interested to learn what exactly Levo you own. I only ask for it because I'm a techno nerd and would love to examine the parts and components online! Thank you in advance!

It could be the above. The MY does not necessarily matches the Mfg. Date.
 
Thats pretty well the one, he did put on a larger steel chainring, Ive got the original and also the original 160mm fork cartridge, its had a 170 fitted.
Two chargers and a spare battery with a fault light.

Congrats on your new bike! Eager to see the new daredevil exploits it will enable in your hands. Also cringing a little.

I'll second the quote above. The Specialized app is actually pretty impressive WRT available data, display customization, bike tuning, and ride recording. I'm using it in lieu of a cycling computer and quite happy with the result.

You'll need some kind of proof of purchase to register. After that, you might also consider a trip to your local authorized Specialized dealer for a firmware update.

It is a good thing Biff fitted a larger chainring. The original 32T one is perhaps good for climbing extreme mountain singletracks but not for merry good England (I would wonder about Wales or Scotland though) :)

@Jeremy McCreary, @Chargeride, I was wrong.

It is enough Chris registers himself at Specialized.com. No need to re-register the e-bike unless Chris needs the "lifetime frame warranty". Specialized App does not require registering the e-bike. It is enough to connect the e-bike with the App. (I know as I used to connect any demo e-bike to the app on my demo rides). However, Chris will need to do one thing: retrieving the e-bike PIN. To do that, he will need to use a T10 screwdriver and unscrew the TCU (the controller) from the top tube and pull it out. The PIN is printed on the label on the side of the TCU.
 
Recall having to submit proof of ownership when I registered my SL. The paid receipt sufficed.

My current mechanic (at a different Specialized dealer) even had me resubmit (to him, not Specialized) when we thought we might be replacing my motor under warranty. (Fortunately, it never came to that.)

  • Get a warranty service up to 2 years post the purchase (it is over for the Levo)
  • Get the "lifetime frame warranty" (but that right pertains to the first owner only)
It is enough @Chargeride registers himself at Specialized.com, downloads the Specialized App, logs in, and then connects the App to the e-bike by Bluetooth. However, he needs to retrieve the e-bike PIN from the TCU first.

I defer to your knowledge on this. My memory of the whole process is a little vague at nearly a year out.

Vague about a lot of things, actually. Especially when they were my fault. And it usually doesn't take a year.

As the First Owner, I registered my both e-bikes as soon as I bought them. I have never regretted that as I indeed got the "lifetime frame warranty" from Specialized. As the first owner! The 2-year Specialized e-bike warranty is transferable but unluckily the frame warranty is not. Regarding the TCU and PIN, my Vado SL happens to have the same TCU as the Levo :)

@Chargeride: If you ever experience any issue with the Levo, please do not hesitate to PM me. I know a lot about the Turbo e-bikes :) And you have got a friend in me.
 
Thanks Stefan, but I doubt I will be registering or even using the app, I see my friends, I know where that leads.
Endless choices of motor performance, suspension settings, it becomes far too large a part of their mountain biking experience, every fail is blamed on a setting or a part performance.
They have zero interest in exploring or anything outside of the built trail that they can use to repeat ride and test their adjustments.
Ive bought a vastly different bike to the fattie and Im going to learn how to ride it as it is.
Im far more interested in what Im riding in and over, the limitations and advantages of the fattie are very niche and can hinder and assist in unexpected ways that are far too subtle for them to bother with.
They are entirely commited to speed and the banter of win and lose, and my rides frustrate them because they cant measure a performance or improvement from them.
Brain did revert to the original guy who I toured Europe and offroad Wales with while we were in Devon , and I would put the 'band' back together, but the two core guys have long fallen out.
Anyway, Im going to try to get them together with an Isle of Man ride.
Ive bought this bike because its easier to ride over a wider range of terrain and has a better range for more adventurous rides Im planning.

This is Brian and I on the Enduros back in 1998 during TT week in the IOM.
We rode every inch of every trail and I hope to recreate that on the emtb.
